Chafing fuel is available in two different forms, liquid fuel (often referred to as wick fuel) and gel fuel. Liquid fuel will only ignite when a wick is present, making it very safe if accidently knocked over or if any liquid is spilled. Many of the wick fuels are supplied in a tin that will not get hot even after extended use; this type of fuel can be extinguished and re-used until it runs out.
Gel fuel has the advantage of not needing clearance for a wick, making it perfect for when you are using a deep chafing dish in your frame. Chafing gel tins can also be used in fuel holders, giving you the ability to control the heat output by partially closing the opening. Gel fuels, like liquid fuels, can be extinguished an re-used until the tin is empty. For other ways of keeping your food warm during a function or event then you can check out the rest of our chafing equipment.
