What is the difference between Single Walled & Double Wall Custom Paper Cups?
Single Walled Paper Cups have a single layer of paper board, and are often used for cold drinks, for example cinema cups, or in recent years as festival cups, as events organisers move away from single-use plastic alcohol cups. Single walled cups are not often used for coffee as they do not have as much thermal insulation making them very hot to touch. If customers were to request a cup sleeve or cup clutch to give some insulation then the combined cost of the single walled cup and the sleeve would usually be more than the coffee operator just purchasing a double walled cup. If no cup sleeves are available staff will often double cup the coffee automatically or at the customers request increasing the cost of the packaging associated with the sale. A double walled cup is effectively just a single walled cup with a sleeve glued in place. It looks and feels more premium.

What makes our Branded Paper Cups Eco-Friendly?
We produce our branded paper cups here in the UK, in a production facility partially powered by Solar Energy. Printed paper cups are like these in the market are often imported from much further away, with a long leadtime and a much higher minimum order quantity. Buy purchasing a Uk manufactured product you are supporting UK jobs. We have been working with a tree planting charity for many years to plant tree's to more than offset the paper used in the production of our cups too, further enhancing the eco-credentials of the product. Read on to learn more about our sustainable paper cups and Delipac Cup Board that makes them easy to recycle or compost.
Can I recycle or compost my paper coffee cups?
Our branded paper cups are made to be recycled, meaning more beautiful paper products can be made from precious paper fibres improving circularity, making the paper cup market more sustainable and lowering the carbon footprint. We believe this to be greener thank composting, and therefore needing new tree's to produce more paper products. However, if compostable or biodegradable cups are a must, we have you covered. Our cups are fully compostable and will degrade at a comparable rate to a newspaper. They are home compostable, which is a massive advantage over compostable/biodegradable cups in the market which require industrial composting and are not as green as they seem to be! But, it is also easily recyclable and that is our recommendation. Recycling the paper fibres in the cups means more beautiful paper products can be made and less tree's consumed. Our cups are very easy to recycle or compost, offering distinct advantages when compared against competitors in the market because ours are plastic free, whereas theirs are not. Most cups on the market nowadays usually either contain a thin layer of PE plastic bonded to the cup, or a compostable / biodegradable liner like PLA which is a plant based bioplastic. PE plastic is in itself easily recyclable, but when bonded to the paper board it does make it pretty difficult and these cups need to be disposed of in a bin that will go to a recycling facility that can recycle them correctly. Similarly with PLA based compostable cups, these cups require disposal in specialist bins so that they can go away for high heat industrial composting. Unfortunately, in both cases for high street coffee-on-the-go a customer is highly unlikely to pass the required bin making these cups difficult to dispose of properly. Our cups are compatible with high street paper waste bins and are even suitable for home composting, because unlike PLA they do not require high heat to break down a bioplastic barrier. Our cup board is certified plastic free by the prestigtous European FLUSTIX Lab.

*If disposed of in this bin the product will most likely end up in landfill. Depending on the country and area of disposal there is a chance of incineration, but usually a sealed or unsealed landfill. Sealed landfills are starved of oxygen and degradation is suspended. In an unsealed landfill - This product would break down at a comparable rate to a newspaper. Both the paper element and the lining would fully biodegrade

Bulk Buying Printed Coffee Cups, Storage & Distribution
When printing, forming, packing and delivering cups there are economies to be made with scale. Some of our competitors see that as an opportunity but we rather pass on print economies to our customers. We want to work with our customers as partners in each others long term success. Storage space is not always easy, particularly for coffee shop businesses. We often do bulk orders for many of our multi-site or large volume customers whereby we can commit to large quantities of print, we can store and distribute these cups at regular intervals saving money, bringing consistency and negating any future price rises in the market. We have a number of payment solutions to spread the costs for these businesses including instalment payments with IwocaPay and PayPal Credit.

Are branded paper cups fully customisable?
We can custom print your paper cups with your design on the outer part of a single walled cup, or we can custom print a double walled wrap which is then wrapped around a plain white single wall cup. It is not cost effective to print the small white part of the single wall cup that protrudes below the double wall wrap. The print process for the double walled cups is a full digital print, and can be photorealistic in quality, meaning you can customise the
Can branded coffee cups be used for alcohol?
Yes, our branded paper cups are increasingly being used in the alcohol, festival, events and concerts market as customers and bar operators seek to move away from single use plastic drinks cups.
Do personalised paper cups meet the guidelines for compliance with the EU's Single-Use Plastics (SUP) directive?
Did you know that PE lined cups and PLA lined cups are supposed to carry the 'PLASTIC IN PRODUCT' messaging and dead turtle logo if produced or used in the EU? Because of Brexit it is not compulsory in the UK market, but there are many products produced for big brands that contain this marking and you may have seen them in the market. The board we use to produce our cups is exempt from this as it is certified plastic free. So when it comes to our Plastic-Free Printed Paper Cups, we call them greener cups and now you understand why!
Are your printed paper cups PFAS Free?
Paper based food packaging can often contain high levels of polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). This is used to increase water and fat resistance to help stop the board rom compromising when in contact with these liquids. These substances are often referred to as forever chemicals and there is a growing awareness of them and a pushback from the public against their use, and rightly so! The cup board we use is certified as PFAS free so you do not need to worry about this. Our cups have outstanding moisture, grease, liquid and oil resistance through the cleverly engineered integrated, non-polymer barrier, especially designed & refined to package food and drink.
What compliance and certifications do you hold for your cup board?
