Wet Floor Signs

Although you do your best to ensure that no floor is left wet when customers or other staff are around, it is sometimes impossible to avoid. A small accidental spill on a smooth floor can be deadly. In fact, slips and trips are the most common cause of major injuries in the workplace. Around 90% of these accidents result in broken bones. Positioning wet floor signs in the optimal position can greatly reduce the chances of an accident.

To help avoid accidents, multiple wet floor signs should be placed around the perimeter of the area being cleaned so that guests and staff see the sign before entering the hazardous area. Usually, four wet floor signs are ample for gating off a spill or area being cleaned. Just remember that if four wet floor signs are being used to gate off an area being cleaned and someone accidently spills a drink in another part of your establishment then you are going to need spares. Correctly marking an area that is wet can reduce the chance of slips and is part of your due diligence. Most mop buckets will also come with a wet floor symbol printed on them.
